My daughter and I love watching Cash Cab, a TV game show on the Discovery Channel that takes place inside a New York City taxicab driven by its host, Ben Bailey. Imagine hopping into the cash cab on a dreary, no-nothing day and hopping out a few hundred bucks richer (if you are able to answer all of the trivia questions correctly, that is). If I ever go to NYC, I will definitely be on the lookout for Ben and his cab. Of course, I would have to look into wrinkle cream reviews because I would like to look flawless in front of all the the cameras inside the cab, haha!

This is one of the reasons why I don’t blog as much anymore. Facebook games take up a lot of my time, mostly because they’re fun and challenging and don’t really require much cerebral processes. Among my favorites is Zynga’s Cafe World. The picture above is my Cafe. Isn’t it cute?

Unlike some players (or athletes, for that matter who use hgh pills, I don’t use any cheats or game-enhacing programs. I would just like to think I’m naturally good at the game, haha! I also like the fact that the developers added Chicken Adobo to the menu – very Filipino, indeed.

And look at how the VIP dinner is tagged… o ha!

Are you addicted yet? I have to confess, I am. Well, was. I finished this game in two days, all while not talking to any one of my family members. I am a fan of tower defense games so when I tried to play the lite version of this at an Apple store, I immediately got hooked. The graphics is great, the quirkiness of the zombies are cute, the sound is not at all annoying (unlike some other games), and its cool!

Let’s just all pray that the zombies won’t be reading any nuphedragen reviews any day now, so they will continue trudging towards the house, through the garden, while battling against equally quirky plants. Love this game!

I am on a handbag ban nowadays but that doesn’t mean I can’t look around. I am tempted to make a bid with my husband for this one, the Louis Vuitton Delightful in Monogram, which I think would be a great reliever for my ever reliable LV Neverfull that I always use whenever I need a huge purse for my many “stuff”.

However, I am willing to pass up on this one in the hopes that they would come out with a Ebene Damier version soon. Hopefully, by then, I won’t be on a handbag diet anymore. My husband is as effective as ephedra diet pills when it comes to policing my shopping sprees, hehe!

I know I already have a waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof camera. And I know I also have my ever trusty regular Sony point and shoot camera. But.

My waterproof camera doesn’t deliver the kind of pictures I want. These past couple of years, I felt like I sacrificed picture quality for underwater usability and for peace of mind whenever my clumsy daughter decides to dribble to camera on asphalt.  I’ve had enough.

At the same time, my cute daughter dropped my wonderful non-shockproof Sony P&S camera and broke the clasp for the battery slot. I now conveniently secure it with Scotch tape but I also know that I need a new camera.  Also, I’m done with toting two cameras every time we go out on a trip. So when I saw the Sony TX5, I knew I found the camera of my dreams.

The last three P&S cameras that I owned have all been Sony, so I really believe in their products. The TX5 is slim (no thanks to adipex diet pills, I guess, haha!), it has 3.0″ wide touch screen, 4x optical zoom, “Exmor R” sensor, iSweep Panorama Mode, and does 10fps at full 10.2 megapixels. More importantly, its sexy airtight construction is waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, and freeze-proof – absolutely everything I want.

Now, to convince hubby…

Its been a while since I shared a book on this blog, mainly because it has been a while since I picked up one. I’m still on the hunt for the nearest public library so, until then, I’m going to be scouring the bookstores for some great deals.

We were at Costco the other day and I was glad to see a paperback of Audrey Niffeneger’s Her Fearful Symmetry, which I have long wanted to read. I got it for less than $10 but the novel itself is priceless.

I fell in love with Niffenegger’s The Time Traveller’s Wife way back and, although this second one did not have the same impact with me as her first book had, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Same smart writing, same sensitivity, same readability, but ever mesmerizing in a totally different way. I’ve been reading non-stop for the past few days and have lost a few precious hours of sleep in the process. I will probably need some powerful acne medication right about now.

Get this book. Right now.

We’re currently staying at an efficiency suite so our hotel room has a small kitchen. For me, my quickest to fix food is a pasta dish. This particular one is my family’s favorite, which I can easily make from a store-bought jar of alfredo sauce, a can of tuna, a can of mushrooms, a pack of tri-color rotini, and a generous sprinkling of parmesan cheese. It doesn’t need any hard to find industrial products or complicated ingredients to make, but it is quicker (and cheaper) than eating out at the local Italian restaurant anytime, and my small hotel kitchen works just fine with it.

Tex-Mex? Yup! But did we get it here in Texas? Nope! Actually, we got this Taco Salad in (of all places) Canada! We visited Calgary last month and, as a big craver of tex-mex food, when I saw the sign for Mucho Burrito, I had hubby park the car immediately. This was my salad, hubby had a burrito, and my daughter had her usual chicken quesadilla. Much like American Standard toilets, which you don’t only find in America, it just goes to show that everything’s gone global.

For Summer, Louis Vuitton teamed up once again with designer Takashi Murakami to come up with these vibrant pieces. These handbags come in four colors: purple, blue, pink, and yellow. Personally, I love the blue but the purple is also calling to me.  Its been a while since an LV Murakami collection caught my eye with another one of their “quirky” designs, and I am loving this. Perhaps another one for the closet? Oh well, I may not have social security benefits, but the benefits from this particular fashion security are priceless to me.

Last weekend was Father’s Day, and we always celebrate Father’s Day by eating out wherever “the Dad” says he wants to eat. For this year’s choice, “the Dad” was in the mood for some good ole texan barbecue. We ended up having lunch at Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ.

The Dad had their fabulous beef brisket and spicy sausage, the daughter had a turkey sandwich and the regular sausage, which she shared with the photographer/mom who had the yummy pork ribs.

Save for the excellent food, the day was really reserved for “the dad” – Ninna’s papa, my husband, the strongman of the family who alternates as the cuddly indoor or outdoor pillows as the need arises, our best friend, the love of our lives. We love you, Papa. More than the yummy grilled meat we stuffed ourselves with, promise.
