
My previous entry for LaPiS was the puto, the logical companion for the dish above, which is the Dinuguan. Made with pig’s blood, it is definitely an acquired taste for some people. If you ask me, I don’t eat it. Never had, never will. Although I don’t share the enthusiasm of other people as they dig heartily into this dish, I respect it as part of our culture. Honestly, I’d rather take diet supplements for life rather than eat dinuguan even if it were the last meal on earth, but hey, to each his own.
