Strips

In the South of the United States, barbecues are a staple. There are different kinds of barbecues, of course, depending on where in the South you are – there’s North and South Carolinan, Texan, Memphis, Kansas City, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgian – the difference is all in the sauce.

However, and no matter the sauce, my two favorite barbecue meals are the baby back ribs and the pulled pork.

For LaPiS, I am featuring the pulled pork.

strips

Pulled pork is prepared by shredding the pork into small strips after it is barbecued. The strips are then served on a bun, like a sandwich, and most often topped with coleslaw. For the particular meal above, my pulled pork came with some yummy Texan toast.

Definitely, not your usual bbq sa kanto. :)

Sarap!
