Wifespeaks: Fab Finds Thursday

There are five gadgets that I learned to absolutely depend on and love after I got married. And mostly, that’s because of my husband’s influence. I am not techie by nature – prenuptial, I was completely happy with a dependable cameraphone (which I would use to extinction), a basic greenhills-assembled desktop, and a working car radio.

Again, my husband had a lot to do with this. :)

gps
I never realized how dependent I would be on a GPS until I came face to face with the US Interstates. I have been using this Garmin Nuvi 360 since 2005 and, with the occasional map upgrades, it always goes with me on my adventures into the unknown.

ds
I may have had the makings of a gaming addict when I first held a Game and Watch in my hands. However, Super Mario was my undoing on the Family Computer. After a while, though, I stopped playing because it sort of got pretty juvenile, I thought. And then… Super Mario made an appearance again via the Nintendo DS. Part nostalgia part lack of real life challenges (haha!) I got into it again. Chances are, if I’m not online, I’m probably busy battling Bowser to get Princess Peach back. Or battling Ninna to use the DS. :)

sonyvaio
Moving around a lot, having a laptop is now more of a necessity for me than anything mainly because I don’t want to lug around a bulky desktop wherever I go. My current laptop is a Sony Vaio FJ170. I can’t use it without it being plugged in (the battery is useless), its screen blacks, greens, or blues out occasionally, it is perpetually on a cooling pad, but I love it nonetheless because hubby got it for me so that I won’t lose touch with the rest of the world.

canon350d
I have always been content to be in front of the camera. :) But, since my husband got this Canon Rebel 350D a few years ago, I couldn’t help but tinker with it when he’s not using it. I’m still quite far from being a great photographer, but it has made me a better poser, haha! :)

olympus
This is my newest gadget, the Olympus Stylus 1050SW, fresh out of the box. It’s my replacement for my Sony DSC-T70 P&S that I broke last month. This camera is shockproof, waterproof, and freezeproof – surely the perfect camera for both me and the junior destroyer, my Ninna. :D

I know that my gadgets are a bit outdated but, I’m not yet so high-tech that I have to get the newest models every time. Anyway, these are more that what I had in my possession before being married so this is already a huge step in being technologically in sync with the world. Besides, I’m perfectly happy as long as I don’t get lost, discover hidden warp zones, keep in touch with theĀ  world, and capture memories.
