If you’d ask my hubby what his favorite food is, he will readily tell you that its Sinigang Na Baboy. With extra fat. I have never been a big fan of sinigang before we got married, but then I haven’t tasted my husband’s singigang before. It didn’t take very long and, soon enough, I was number one in scouring the local farmer’s market for the choicest liempo, the firmest eggplants, the freshest sitaw, and whatever green leafy vegetable that catches my fancy. How can you not fall in love with a man who just knows how to make his way to your heart via the taste buds?
And then, after our latest annual physical exam, our love affair with Sinigang na Baboy with extra fat ended. With the doctor’s extra stern warning.
And so, because I love my husband and I very much expect to grow old with him, I did what every wife needed to do. Goodbye, baboy. Hello, isda.

We have now started eating healthier, we’ve had fun experimenting for best substitutes for our usual recipes, and more importantly we have vowed not be an enabler for each other. That’s what a marriage is supposed to be right? A place where you try to bring out the best (and healthiest) in your partner.
