I couldn’t decide if I should post this under Lasang Pinoy Sundays or Weekend Snapshot. Indecisive that I am, I chose to just post this for both, haha!
Anyway, for two consecutive Sundays now, my family, my friends, and I have trooped over to Royal China for dimsum. Check out the stuff that we stuffed ourselves with!
- Bacon Stuffed With Shrimp
- Sesame Balls Stuffed With Sweet Mung Beans
- Buns Stuffed With Pork
- Gyoza Stuffed With Pork
- Steamed Dumplings Stuffed With Shrimp
- I Forgot What This Is But It’s Stuffed With Shrimps
- Siopao Stuffed With Savory Pork
- Fried Rice With All Kinds of Stuff In It
- Siomai, The Stuff Dimsum Love Is Made Of
My first impression of Royal China (the restaurant) is that it looked (and smelled!) authentic. It was like being transported to Hong Kong, or to the heart of Binondo. It was how I have always envisioned Chinese restaurants to be: exotic oriental spices enveloping you as you enter (and staying with you long after you’ve left, haha!), garish traditional and very red decor, servers who actually speak the native language (and their fingers predictably brushing against your food as they serve them to you, haha!), and food that stuffs you until your belly button pops out – not at all PF Chang-ish, if you know what I mean.
I might just lay off on the dimsum for a while after this but, siomai monster that I am, you’ll never know when I’m liable to stuff myself silly again.
