Last week, the topic for Ten on Tuesday was favorite movie songs. I love the topic so here’s mine, better late than never.
1. “Kissing You” from Romeo + Juliet.
:: I loved this song so much I used it for my own wedding video. A song about star-crossed lovers always gets me.
2. ”Two of Us” from I Am Sam.
:: I am Sam is probably my number one favorite movie of all time. Sean Penn at his finest. And to use The Beatles’ songs as its soundtrack, I can’t imagine any other movie topping this.
3. “Live and Let Die” from Terminator 2.
:: Without this song, Terminator 2 won’t be as kick-ass as it turned out to be.
4. “Grow Old With You” from The Wedding Singer.
:: Romantic, much!
5. “The Nightingale Sang On Berkley Square” from Everytime We Say Goodbye.
:: I first heard the song and loved it. But the movie is even better – mushy, just the way I like it.
6. “Somewhere In Time” from Somewhere in Time.
:: Classic, classic, classic. I miss Chris Reeve. *sigh*
7. “The Very Thought of You” from Forever Young.
:: I love love love Billie Holiday.
8. “Maybe” from Annie.
:: I fell in love with the movie because of this song. But, I’m also never fully dressed without a smile.
9. “Angel” and “Iris” from City of Angels.
:: The movie is pretty depressing but the soundtrack rocks. Better than football trophies for both Eli and Peyton Manning, hehe.
10. “Seasons of Love” from Rent.
:: I’ve since measured every day in my life because of this song.
I had fun doing this but ten is definitely not enough. What’s your top ten?
(*please wait a while for the imeem playlist to load if you want to hear the songs i mentioned above. thanks!)
