Last weekend, my family and I attended a mini-poolside barbecue party. I was looking forward to it, mainly because I knew that it was going to be a great opportunity to take some pictures for the 3rd LaPiS theme, which is of course: grilled.
Unfortunately, my camera’s batteries conked out and I wasn’t able to take a single picture. Not a one. Kaasar! Haha!
So anyway, I had to dig deep into my baul of pics and found these: our farewell barbecue dinner at Goode Co Texas Barbecue.

As I mentioned here when I first wrote about it, I initially thought it was pretty disconcerting to eat ala cafeteria style. However, we came there for the food and not the ambiance, and the food was definitely worth it!

I got the combination of barbecued pork ribs and chicken and, oh wow, the Pork Ribs were sooo good! Well, as was the chicken, and the Potato Salad, and the Austin Baked Beans, and the Jalapeno Corn Bread. Especially the Jalapeno Corn Bread! I can make an entire blog entry for just the corn bread, haha! And the sauce… yum!

I think my daughter was a little overwhelmed by the size of our dinner, hehe.
The following day, we left Houston and moved to Miami. It was a pretty fitting last hurrah. The tender, juicy, saucy bbq would forever be the last taste I will savor in my mouth of Houston.
