On our way to the Bal Harbor Shops, we chanced upon Tatay’s - a Filipino Restaurant located on 167th St. It was a good thing because Hubby, Ninna, our friend Bobbet and I were all craving for some authentic pinoy laman-tiyan.
They serve food turo-turo style, although they also had some items served ala carte - such as their mami, pancit, and halo-halo. Our order consisted of: Pancit Bihon, Pinakbet, Menudo, and Lechon Kawali.
We found the food okay, though for our palates, we would have prefered the food seasoned some more. Anyway, it was a good alternative to my cooking so I guess we may see ourselves going back here once in a while.
